"We're currently planning for 2015 frames and we sat down with the team with a blank sheet of paper and asked them what they want to change with the Militis. They said they'd like it a little lighter - but we're already adding weight to the current team bike to make it 6.8kg [the UCI minimum weight] - but they said not to touch the handling, compliance and stiffness, so I'm quite happy with where we are." - Terry Blackwood, Raleigh UK product manager
At the top of the Militis food chain sits the Militis Team. It comes with a full 11-speed SRAM Red 22 groupset (with mechanical rim brakes), Cole 38 Lite wheels and Shwalbe One tires, carbon fibre FSA SLK handlebar and stem and Fizik R1 saddle for a claimed weight of 6.9kg.
Next is the mid-range Militis Race complete with SRAM Force 22 (once again, mechanical rim brakes) Cole Rollen Elite wheels, Shwalbe Durano wheels, FSA Omega handlebar and stem and Fizik Ardea saddle.
The most affordable model of the 2014 Militis line is the Pro which has the same specs as the Race, but swap the SRAM Force 22 for a Shimano 105, and the Fizik saddle replaced by a Selle Royal Seta perch.
BRAND NEW FOR 2014 - the Aluminum Militis
The double butted frame shares the same aggressive geometry as the carbon fiber Militis, and also has the same 395g C6 carbon fiber fork.
The aluminum Militis is designed to be "fast, lightweight and efficient", with a competitive frame weight of 1,300g.
The aluminum frame will be available in two builds. The Militis Comp is equipped with a SRAM Rival groupset, Cole Rollen Elite wheels, Schwalbe Durano tires, FSA Omega handlebar and stem, and a Selle Royal Seta saddle.
The Militis Elite comes with a SRAM Apex and Cole Rollen lite wheels (and slightly less money)
